In august 2018, a surveillance device is found in the squat Awhanee in Grenoble (France), not long after the place was searched by the cops. This example was already present in our list of examples but with very little information.

En août 2018, un dispositif de surveillance est retrouvé dans le squat Awhanee à Grenoble, peu de temps après une perquisition du lieu par les flics. Cet exemple était déjà présent dans notre liste d’exemples mais avec très peu d’informations.

Государства, в соответствии со своей ролью в подавлении отдельных лиц и групп, совершающих подрывные действия, ищут пути обеспечения наблюдения за этими лицами и группами. Похоже, что некоторые из этих наблюдений осуществляются путем скрытых устройств наблюдения в тех пространствах, в которых мы живем.

Эти устройства имеют разные образцы: микрофоны, камеры, геолокационные устройства. Целевыми пространствами могут быть все пространства, через которые мы перемещаемся: здания, транспортные средства, общественные места. Эти практики иногда являются законными, санкционированными судьей, например, а иногда и совершаются незаконным путем спецслужбами.

Мы заметили отсутствие информации относительно такого рода наблюдения в наших кругах. Каково реальное применение этих устройств спецслужбами? Какие устройства используются? По каким причинам? Насколько эффективно? Что мы можем сделать, чтобы противостоять подобному наблюдению?

Toto je výzva k vytváření příspěvků na téma: přístroje pro sledování, které policisté ukrývají v prostorech, ve kterých žijeme.

Státy při represích vůči jednotlivcům a skupinám podporujících podvratné akce, zavedly způsob, jak je udržet pod dohledem. Zdá se, že některé z těchto sledování probíhají skrze skryté sledovací zařízení v prostorech, ve kterých žijeme.

Tato zařízení mají různé podoby: mikrofony, kamery, geolokační zařízení. Cílem mohou být všechna místa, ve kterých se pohybujeme: budovy, vozidla, veřejný prostor. Tyto praktiky jsou někdy legální, například povolené soudcem, a někdy ne, prováděné nezákonně zpravodajskými agenturami.

Všimli jsme si nedostatku informací, které jsou kolem nás k dispozici ohledně tohoto druhu sledování. Jaké je skutečné využití těchto zařízení zpravodajskými agenturami? Jaký typ zařízení se používá? V jakých kontextech? Jak efektivně? Co můžeme udělat, abychom se postavili proti tomuto druhu dohledu?

Story

On of the two “BOLYGUARD MG983G” cameras found during the support day

September 2018, in a small countryside in Sarthe, west of France (300 inhabitants).

To answer the call to support financially and materially the struggle against Bure nuclear trash (in Bure, the french State wants to build a giant center to bury nuclear waste), we decide to organize a support day where we live. On the program: conference, exchange time on the current struggle situation, food and concerts.

On the event day, the first persons arrive early afternoon, by car, bike, or by foot from the village center. (It is important to note that the event place is at the end of a 250m pathway bordered by a field on one side, and a tree hedge on the other side).

Around 3 p.m., one of the participants who arrived by foot on the pathway tells us that there is an unidentified device on the ground in the grass. An organizer decides to come with her to check what it is. The device is brought back and analyzed. It is a remote surveillance camera of model BOLYGUARD MG983G.

Une des deux caméras de modèle “BOLYGUARD MG983G” retrouvées lors de la journée de soutien

Septembre 2018, dans une petite campagne sarthoise de 300 habitant.es.

Pour répondre à l’appel à soutenir financièrement et matériellement la résistance à la poubelle nucléaire à Bure, nous décidons d’organiser une journée de soutien dans notre lieu de vie. Au programme, conférence gesticulée, temps d’échange sur la situation actuelle de la lutte, cantine et concerts.

Jour J, les premières personnes arrivent en début d’après-midi, en voiture, en vélo ou à pied depuis le bourg. (Il est important de noter que le lieu se trouve au bout d’un chemin de 250m bordé d’un champ d’un coté, et d’une haie d’arbres de l’autre côté).

Vers 15h, une des participantes qui est arrivée à pied en empruntant le chemin nous fait remarquer qu’il y a un appareil non identifié au sol dans les herbes. Une des organisatrice décide de l’accompagner pour aller voir. Le dispositif est ramené et analysé. Il s’agit d’une caméra de surveillance à distance de modèle BOLYGUARD MG983G.

Los Estados, en su rol de represión de individuos y grupos practicantes de actividades subversivas, despliegan cierta cantidad de medios para mantener a esos individuos y grupos bajo vigilancia. Parece que parte de esta vigilancia se realiza a través del ocultamiento de dispositivos de vigilancia en los espacios en que vivimos.

Los dispositivos en cuestión son varios: micrófonos, cámaras, dispositivos de geolocalización. Los espacios que se han elegido como blanco pueden ser todos los espacios por los cuales transcurrimos : edificios, vehículos, espacios públicos. Estas prácticas a veces son legales, autorizadas por un juez, por ejemplo, y a veces no, realizadas por agencias de inteligencia fuera de un marco legal.

Notamos la falta de información disponible a nuestro alrrededor sobre este tipo de vigilancia. ¿Cuál es el uso real de estos dispositivos por parte de los servicios de inteligencia? ¿Qué tipos de dispositivos son utilizados? ¿En cuáles contextos? ¿Con cuán eficacia? ¿Qué medios se pueden poner en lugar para contrarrestar este tipo de vigilancia? Gli Stati, nel loro ruolo di repressione di individui e gruppi che praticano attività sovversive, impiegano un certo numero di strumenti, per sorvegliare questi individui e gruppi. Sembra che una parte di questa sorveglianza passi attraverso il nascondere dei dispositivi di sorveglianza negli spazi di vita.

I dispositivi in questione sono vari: microfoni, telecamere, apparecchi di geolocalizzazione. Possono essere presi di mira tutti gli spazi che attraversiamo: edifici, veicoli, spazi pubblici. Tali pratiche sono a volte legali, realizzate per esempio su mandato di un giudice per le indagini preliminari, a volte no, realizzate dai servizi d’intelligence al di fuori di un quadro legale.

Abbiamo constatato la mancanza d’informazioni disponibili, intorno a noi, su questo tipo di sorveglianza. Qual’è l’utilizzo reale di questi dispositivi da parte dei servizi d’intelligence? (en) Call for contributions : surveillance devices hidden by cops in the spaces we live in

The States, according to their role of repression of individuals and groups doing subversive actions, put in place ways of keeping those individuals and groups under surveillance. It seems that some of this surveillance is done through the hiding of surveillance devices in the spaces we live in.

These devices take different forms : microphones, cameras, geolocation devices. Targeted spaces can be all the spaces we go through : buildings, vehicles, public space. These practices are sometimes legal, authorized by a judge for example, and sometimes not, done illegally by intelligence agencies.

We noticed the lack of informations available around us concerning this kind of surveillance. What is the real use of these devices by intelligence agencies? Which kind of devices are used? In which contexts? How efficiently? What can we do to oppose this kind of surveillance? Continue reading →
